Well, I think it’s a type of parrot anyways. This photo was taken after a buffet lunch somewhere between Cusco and Ollantaytambo. I began walking around the garden area, and happened over to a corner where this little guy was taking an afternoon snooze.
The neat thing with HDR is that you can do it with a single photo, using the orginal RAW file. This photo worked so well as a single shot because there was already enough lighting, and with animal shots you don’t always have a period of seconds in which the animal is sitting still. The colors and details really stood out after processing the photo, and came out pretty close to complete after the initial tonemapping.
