Picton Harbour HDR
Here we are!! I would have to say this is up there on my list of “most proud” photos that I’ve taken. It turned out spectacular, just like I remember that day in harbour, about to take the three and a half hour ferry ride across the Cook Strait, from Picton to Wellington, New Zealand.
Picton sits at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound (one of four that make up the Marlborough Sounds), and is the departure point of the Interislander Ferry, which I was excitedly awaiting to board. The fog rolled over the mountains of the sounds fantastically, and the water glistened with green. I really enjoy harbour & marina photos, because of the great colors and details of the ships. The background of the city and mountains just topped this off!
A 3 shot HDR brought out the details and the colors wonderfully for this photo. Next time, I will post one of the originals, to show how much of a difference HDR processing can make.
