Sandy Shores and Rocky Bluffs at Tulum
Tulum served as a major port for the Maya culture, and was also one of the last cities built and occupied by the culture. A port was carved out of the bluffs seen here, creating an access point to the ocean. The high bluffs, along with a wall that ran the entire perimiter of the city provided protection from invasion. Tulum is one of the most fortified city of the entire civilization.
