The Rouge After Dark
Strange things happen after dark in the Shockoe Bottom area of Richmond, Virginia. Being one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, included in Colonel William Mayo’s 1737 plan of Richmond, the area is filled with old buildings and a feeling of history. More recently, due to the completion of the James’ River Flood Wall, the area has become a mecca of nightlife, dining, and entertainment.
A warm summer evening turns dark, and the lights of the city begin to glow.
