Reflection on the River

There isn’t much that I love better than a good quote, and this one definitely hits a chord with me.

I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.  I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist.  I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.  I shall use my time. – Jack London

I’ve seen this spot a few times before, but only recently have I seen it as a photographer.  I had a vision of the photo that I wanted of this spot in my head for a couple of months now, but the timing of being here hadn’t worked out yet.  After sampling a couple of the local brewery’s blends, we walked across the bridge to hit another spot for a little dinner.  The timing was just perfect as the moon rose high into the sky to light the clouds, and the darkness allowed a great long exposure to flatten out the motion in the river.
