Neon in Memphis
There are a lot of great store/bar/restaurant fronts in Memphis. I could have done a dozen more, but these two I particularly liked. The Green Beetle is a staple of the community, as you can see in the sign is the proclaimed (I only say this because I haven’t researched that fact) ‘oldest tavern in Memphis,’ having been established in 1939. The green aura from the neon just added to it’s charm.
Johnny G’s had this really cool catfish neon, but their selling point for me was the two guys standing out front, heckling for a new customer. Now they brought me in, but their food and beer kept me there. Delicious!
