Sunset on the Tracks
Depth of focus is a funny thing. It can really change the way you look at a photograph, and can change the way you depict a scene. This one here, for example, has a somewhat strange focus point. It’s not off into infinity, but a small slice of the scene. It creates this small but noticeable direction in which one should pay attention to the scene depicted. As the rest of the image fades from focus, your eyes are drawn to the section of tracks that are wonderfully lit by the setting sun, and their textures and slight variations become recognizable features.
