Nice Camera 😉

“Wow, you must have a really nice camera!”  I get that a lot these days. More so it seems when I’m displaying my work or discussing techniques.  Well truth is yeah, it is pretty nice.  It’s by no means the best there is, but I have no room to complain.  But one thing that everyone needs to remember is that it’s not the camera that does all the work. You can make great art with very little, and if you’re interested in getting started, don’t feel intimidated by the big price tags of top end equipment. At the end of the day, you’ve still got to get out there and take the photo.

Color Space – sRGB for the Internet!

Here’s a few for old times sake that I really enjoyed, that I took with the first DSLR that I owned.  Another reason I wanted to go back to these particular photos, is due to their being processed when I was learning about color spaces.  There is a tooooooooon of information out on the web about color spaces, why you should use different ones, why some are better for this application or that…  At the end of the day, though, all that I needed to know for the website here, is that in order to get the best image across all viewing possibilities, I should output in sRGB, and if you intend to share any work online, you should do the same.  There is tons of reasons why, and if you must know, hop on Google and you can read for hours, if you just want to make sure your images show up consistently across web browsers, just output your jpeg’s in sRGB.  Originally these weren’t, so the colors may have come across off, maybe not, who knows, that’s why it’s best to stick with what works.  So here they are.
