Rolling in Blue

Atmospheric Perspective

n.)  in art, the perception of depth in nature as enhanced by haze in the atmosphere.

Rolling in Blue

Heading up to the summit of Moro Rock in the Sequoia’s National Park, the road twisted and turned along the mountainside, peering over the edge to perilous heights, and offering expansive views of the rolling mountains surrounding you in all directions.  The ‘word of the day’ had become atmospheric perspective,  and you’ll get a great taste of it all around you while exploring the mountainsides.

New HDR Technique

I’m pretty excited about this.  I’ve done a few samples this way, and so far I would say it’s a great process.  I’m coming up with a new tutorial that will outline a nice ‘how to’ of a photo that I’ve developed using this new technique.

Under the Stars

While out in California, Britta and I had some amazing camp sites.  I tried to document each in an interesting way, and I think this one definitely turned out pretty awesome.  It was a 30 second exposure, so we’re moving a bit around the site while the camera was taking in all sorts of fun light!  It was a crystal clear night, near Hume Lake in the Sequoia’s National Forest, so you can see the stars glittering above us in the black sky.
