Here’s a few things that happened to us in Alaska. It was an amazing trip, and I know we’ll be spending some more time there soon.
The last two states, combined in one beautiful grill.
First thing’s first, we went after some mountains and glaciers!
I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed dog sledding until the other day. Now I could probably become a musher… o_o
So who would we run in to in Anchorage? Andrew (who is from Illinois)! What does Andrew do in Alaska? DOG MUSHER! So we mushed with Andrew. It was everything we wanted it to be!
After all those dogs, we were obviously dogged out. Wait, no we weren’t, and we went to see the official re-start in Willow, Alaska.
One of the best things of the day, watching Andrew help Dallas Seevey start the Iditarod.
If you haven’t had the opportunity or desire to explore an ice cave yet, please find a way to do so. This was by far one of the most epic places in the world I’ve ever been.
Few trips have the ability to make such an impact on you as I feel Alaska has on me, and I’m super stoked to get back here in the summer months to see what else this great state has to offer.
I spent a few days in Fairbanks, Alaska. It consisted of sleeping in cars, not sleeping between midnight and 4a.m., and the most magical dancing colors in the sky.

I think there have been more life altering moments in my life since taking up photography than ever before. It’s a pursuit of beauty, and every once in a while you get the opportunity to be in one of those moments. One that just makes you want to throw your hands in the air and yell in excitement. Now, many of you have seen aurora before, but I haven’t. I only captured a handful of photos last night, because I spent most of the time mesmerized, staring in to the sky.
I sometimes have music playing while I am out, and this song was on while I was making this photo, and made me think back to a few other life altering moments. It’s funny how that happens sometimes.
